Too much attention: at Kensington Palace, employees were forbidden to share details about Kate Middleton’s outfit

Kensington Palace officials have begun refusing to share details about Kate Middleton’s outfit amid frustration that so much media attention is being paid to what she wears. Until recently, they have always reported the details of the Princess of Wales’ outfit for every official event, except for visits to farms or gardens, where she dresses very simply.

But now they regularly refuse to speak unless it’s an extremely glamorous event, such as a film premiere, or a state event or foreign visit where she applies fashion diplomacy, express.co.uk reports .

Palace officials regularly provided information on details of the outfits of the late Queen and Queen Consort Camilla. Some of the outfits worn by the late Princess Diana have become centerpieces in palace exhibitions and are now used to attract the public to visit the royal residences. Kate Middleton’s aides say fashion experts are still able to quickly identify the designers, but the palace will no longer officially confirm or deny the details.

The Princess of Wales is known for her royal style and often causes a stir with her clothes, which sell out when she steps out into the world. Kate Middleton is known for wearing affordable high-street brands and designer clothes at the same time.

Prince William’s wife wore a Zara dress the day after her spectacular royal wedding in 2011. And earlier this year, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue praised Kate for “inspiring” people with her style.
